Goldie Hawn has talked openly about the day she confronted Harvey Weinstein after he blew up their previous “deal.”
In the late 1980s, Weinstein’s production company Miramax was ready to adopt the renowned Broadway musical Chicago for the big screen. Hawn was slated to portray Velma Kelly, and Madonna would play Roxie Hart.
A different script that featured a younger Velma, age 23, was commissioned by Weinstein during the film’s development. Hawn was 20 years older at that time.
